Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson - born Jacqueline Luesby to Chris Watson and Jacqueline Luesby, two British lawyers, was born on August 8, 1989, in Paris. When she moved to Oxfordshire around the age of five, Emma attended The Dragon School. Emma was only six when she decided she wanted to pursue a career as an actress. She trained for several years in Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a full-time school of theatre in Oxford where she studied acting as well as singing. She had already performed in several Stagecoach and school productions when she was 10 years old. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the 2001 version to J.K. Rowling's bestselling British novel was published in 1999. Emma was identified by casting agents via Emma's Oxford theater teacher. David Heyman told Emma along together with Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe after having 8 consecutive auditions. Emma's first film appearance coincided with the release Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). It was the year's top production, and it broke records on opening day and first weekend. The film received praise from experts, and also by the performance of three young stars. The Daily Telegraph, a well-read British newspaper, was awed by her for her outstanding performance. Emma got five nominations in recognition of her impressive performance. In the end, she received the Young Artist Award in Leading Young Actresses of the Film.
